To develop an appreciation of the notion that design is always for something - a context, (a particular site or building), a particular audience/market sector, client.
THE BRIEF
To design an Urban City House for a young professional couple, influenced by Le Corbusier: Villa Shodan - interpret and apply architectural principles of the architect. The couple have purchased a distinctive building plot and want a bespoke urban home specifically designed to suit their needs.
The house will be the couple’s main residence. They will both need to work from home.
Client requirements:
Gent’s: Art Dealer, works from home - Gallery for displaying art work, Office/work space for other business interests.
Lady’s: Journalist and successful novelist - Inspirational Tranquil area, Office/work space
